If you have difficulty remembering your PIN number on your bank card, download the App for online banking to your phone (the bank staff will help you with this). When you open the App, there will a series of dots ( … ) next to the help option. Tap on this, and one of the options on the next page will be cards. One of the next options will be “view PIN”. You will be asked some additional questions for security purposes, e.g. expiry date & security number on the reverse of your card. But then your PIN will be revealed.

Money and legal matters – Paying

If I go out to buy something small, like a coffee, I just take a fiver. That way it won’t ever be too bad if I’m not given the right change.
Use an App to remember your PIN.

I always use Contactless, so that I don’t have to count change or remember a PIN number.

Using Contactless saves you the stress of using cash.

Think now how you might cope using cash again (after COVID). We’ve all been using Contactless as payment. Now some people may require cash again. My window cleaner came the other day and wanted cash. I asked him to knock again when he’d finished. And in the meantime sent a piccie to my daughter of what I thought was the right money, to check it was right .

I avoid paying in cash, as I can’t compute the change.
