Being around each other all the time can get frustrating. Make your own space. I go off on my laptop, and also go out with a carer once a week for a few hours, while my wife meets up with her friends.

Trying to treat each other the same is a good starting point. Cut out the ‘You Can’t…’ We work together.

Living alone means there is no-one around to move things!

I found Christmas very hard this year. I was very confused through it all. I wasn’t stressed, but I was so confused, not knowing what I was doing. And I’ve said I’m not doing it next year. I’ve noticed a change in myself, how I wasn’t coping, and so I’ve decided – if I can’t do it, I’ll let someone else do it instead. You can defuse a situation by saying “Sorry, I must have forgotten”.

Don’t be afraid to talk to those close to you. Listen too – what do they want to ask?
